Multidisciplinary oncology talks and extracts
The MORE project was initiated in 2010 as the formation of national expert boards; the development of oncology clinical guidelines based on evidence; the publication of textbooks for CME in oncology, and the organization of annual national MORE conferences.
MORE е-Guidelines
e-Guidelines is an innovative web-based platform for interactive creation and dynamic real-time updating of national multidisciplinary oncology clinical guidelines, based on evidence, using the GRADE method.
Created in 2022 in partnership with the MORE-Darzalas Foundation and BGO Software.

National Hub of the Mission Against Cancer – Bulgaria
From 18 June 2024, BJCN has been officially included as Bulgaria’s representative in the initiative ECHoS (Establishing Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies).
ECHoS is a European project, bringing together over 60 leading organizations in healthcare, research and innovation, academia, and the non-governmental sector from more than 30 countries. Funded under the Horizon Europe program, the project aims to support the implementation of activities under the Cancer Mission in all EU member states and associated countries, with a focus on the creation and development of National Hubs.
As part of ECHoS, BJCN is responsible for building a network for collaboration and dialogue, aimed at introducing and implementing policies related to cancer prevention and treatment. The initiative seeks to create sustainable synergies and interactions at national and international levels, supporting innovative solutions and best practices in oncology care.
Building Comprehensive Oncology Centers (COCs)
Since July 2022, BJCN has been an associate member of OECI (Organization of European Cancer Institutes) – an international non-governmental organization authorized to accredit comprehensive cancer centers across Europe and worldwide.
In November 2025, the first visit to Bulgaria took place under the CCI4EU – WP4 project, aimed at providing support for the development of maturity in structuring comprehensive cancer care centers.
The visit was conducted at UMHAT “St. Ivan Rilski”, Sofia.

Personalized Cancer Primary Prevention Research through Citizen Participation and Digitally Enabled Social Innovation (4P-CAN)
2022 –
4P-CAN is a research initiative focused on personalized cancer prevention through active citizen participation and digital innovation. The project aims to reduce cancer incidence by developing effective early prevention strategies tailored to individual needs and socio-economic disparities.

Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union (CCI4EU)
2023 –
CCI4EU (Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union) is a European initiative coordinated by OECI to strengthen cancer infrastructure through standardized assessment criteria and personalized capacity-building programs. The project aims to reduce inequalities in access to quality cancer care and ensure integration between research and clinical practice in EU Member States.

EU network of Comprehensive cancer centers Joint action (EUnetCCC)
2024 –
The European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (EUnetCCC) is an initiative under the EU4Health programme, created to build a network of comprehensive cancer centres across Europe. It aims to standardise cancer care, promote collaboration and reduce inequalities in access to high-quality treatment and research.

Joint Action on Networks of Expertise (JANE2)
2024 –
The Joint Initiative for Networks of Expertise (JANE2) is an EU project aimed at establishing a network of expertise in oncology to strengthen cross-border cooperation and improve cancer care in Europe. The project aims to combine research, clinical practice and healthcare policies to achieve better outcomes and equal access to comprehensive and innovative cancer care.

European Oncology Quality of Life (EUonQoL)
2024 –
The European Assessment of Quality of Life in Cancer Care (EUonQoL) is an EU-funded project that aims to develop a standard tool for assessing the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors in Europe – the EUonQoL-Kit. This tool will be digitally available in multiple languages and will include self-assessment and patient perspectives to support more patient-centred healthcare and policy decision-making.

Mental health for Ukrainian patients with oncological diseases
2022 – 2023
The Bulgarian Association of Psycho-Oncology within BJCN, in partnership with the National Patient Organization and Junior Achievement Bulgaria, developed and implemented the UICC Solidarity Fund for Ukraine project in 2022 – 2023 under the theme: Mental health for Ukrainian patients with oncological diseases.

CanScreen-ECIS is an initiative of the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to improve the quality, monitoring and evaluation of cancer screening programmes in Europe. The project supports data collection, capacity building and the adoption of evidence-based policies for effective and equitable early cancer detection.

The eCAN project is an EU-funded initiative that aims to integrate telemedicine and remote monitoring into healthcare systems to improve cancer prevention and care in Europe. The project develops technological solutions, conducts clinical trials and proposes policies to harmonise telemedicine standards across EU Member States.
